Elder statesman, Dr. Tunji Braithwaite, is dead, The Punch is reporting.

The newspaper said Braithwaite died on Saturday morning at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos.

He was 82.

His son, Olumide, was said to have confirmed the death of Braithwaite.

He was said to have died after a brief illness.‬
