Shaibu Says He Is Unstoppable As Hotel Cancels Venue Of Guber Declaration For Obaseki

Deputy Governor Philip Obaseki says he is unstoppable in his bid to become the next Governor of Edo state.

He made the declaration at the alternative venue for his declaration of interest after the original place canceled his booking at the last minute in favor of an event by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Eterno Hotel was supposed to be the venue for the declaration of Shaibu’s gubernatorial ambition but the management reportedly canceled his booking at the last minute for a programme by Governor Obaseki.

Obaseki and Shaibu are at odds.

Shaibu used an alternative venue, Biohop Kelly Centre, Benin City, to officially make his gubernatorial ambition on Monday, May 27, 2023.

The Deputy Governor declared himself unstoppable.

While calling on support from the people of Edo state, he disclosed that he a “homeboy” who understands the pains and needs of the people.

Shaibu also cited his contributions to the success of the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki as a big advantage to his ambition.

Shaibu has been the Deputy Governor of Edo state for the past 7 years.

He has, however, been at odds with Obaseki over issues relating to his gubernatorial ambition for about 4 months.
