“Explain Why You Should Not Be Disciplined” – Yahaya Bello’s Govt To Traditional Ruler Over Kogi Guber

The administration of Governor Yahaya Bello has issued a 48hrs deadline to a traditional ruler to explain why he should not be disciplined for his alleged role in the recent Kogi state gubernatorial election.

“You are hereby requested to forward a written explanation within 48 hours why disciplinary action should not be taken against you”, the Kogi state government wrote in a letter to the Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfi, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Gambo Isa Koto.

The traditional ruler is also the the Chairman Kogi Local Government Traditional Council.

The letter from the government with the header “Letter Query” and signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu Ozigi Deedat alleged that the traditional ruler ” deliberately engaged yourself in partisan politics” and that the action ” endangered the security of your domain to the extent that crisis erupted under your watch that led to death of an innocent young lady in addition to several others that were wounded”

Declaring that “contradiction of your expected role as a revered Royal Father of your status”, the Government expressly stated that ““In view of the above, you are hereby requested to forward a written explanation within 48 hours why disciplinary action should not be taken against you”.

And added that “Oral explanations may also be required from you when the State Government sets up a panel to examine your case.”

The Ohimege-Igu Koton-Karfi was advised to “give priority attention to the content” of the letter.
