Senator Gbenga Daniel has lost one of his key political strongmen.

One of the pillars of the Senator’s grassroots mobilization, Gateway Movement just passed on.

The Gateway Movement helped Daniel to become the Governor of Ogun state on 29 May 2003 beating re-election-seeking incumbent Governor, Olusegun Osoba in the process and securing a second term in 2007.

The political backbone that just passed on is Adekunle Orekoya a prominent face of the formidable Daniel political structure in Ishagamu Ogun state.

Ishagamu is the political base of former Governor Daniel.

Orekoya, a former Chairman of the Local Government was a very active and visible political leader.

The Gateway Movement with the deceased playing his usual frontline role also helped Daniel to become the Senator representing Ogun East by a never before-seen margin in the last election.

The Senator was at the residence of the late Orekoya on Saturday, 04, 2023, to pay his last respects and give assurances of continuing association.
