Segun Awolowo Faces Sack As Nigeria Export Promotion Council Boss Over Refusal To Publicly Campaign For President Goodluck Jonathan

Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, Segun Awolowo is on the verge of parting with his job.

And the reason for this development is simple – he refuses to publicly identify with his employers.

Information available to societynowng.com revealed the grandson of late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo currently making a living as an appointee of President Goodluck Jonathan has refused to come out publicly to endorse the re election campaign of his principal.

According to a source President Jonathan handlers had attempted to draft him into campaign at securing better foothold in the southwest. He was supposed to come out as a beneficiary of the Jonathan administration and tell the people why Mr President should be re elected.

His open endorsement is expected to take the wind out of the advantage All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Muhammadu buhari posses – Deola, the wife of his running mate, Yemi Osinbajo is of the Awolowo clan.

‘but Segun refused….he kept giving excuses’ an insider disclosed.

Informants disclosed his body language is now interpreted as disloyalty by passionate supporters of President Jonathan’s re election.

Sources disclosed against the backdrop of refusal to publicly identify with the source of his livelihood- and commit himself to protecting and ensure his continuous employment, there are growing agitation for his sack.

Insist an insider ‘those against him believe it is a simple case….if he doesn’t have enough faith in this administration to publicly throw his weight behind Mr President’s re election, he should go and someone passionate about the cause should come and take over’.

One of the reasons given by Mr Awolowo is that he can’t publicly campaign against his cousin’s husband, that it would portray the family as in crisis.

Added information revealed the move to kick him out as really snowballed it a major movement.

More digs revealed the string keeping him in place is the weighing of the effect of such a move against an awolowo. There are those who believe keeping him in place has it’s political value, the name Awolowo is still associated with the Jonathan administration- that outright sack would literarily be an act of war some are said to counselling.
