Rotimi Makinde Can Never Become The Next Gov Of Osun State, Insiders Insist Despite Actor Turned Politician’s Perceived Public Posture

Thursday June 1, actor turned politician Rotimi Makinde took to his facebook, social media page and delivered a message that has sparked off a frenzy.

Rotimi, a former House of Representatives member with Governor Rauf Aregbesola as his acclaimed mentor tagged his write up “God Will As Usual Play Prominent Role On Osun Come 2018” and wrote in part “God Knows what he was doing when he made me an indigene of Ile Ife the cradle of Yoruba race, it wasn’t my making”.

It is general knowledge that the big talk about Osun state presently is the gubernatorial election billed for 2018 to determine the who succeeds Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The first day of the month delivery by Makinde sparked off a frenzy of talks, with many claiming he has ambition to succeed the his mentor.

But insiders insist the “ambition” a no no.

“It can’t fly, Makinde can never become the next governor of Osun state” an insider stated emphatically and provided a bit of insight.

“Makinde is from the same area as Aregbesola, so it is the turn of another area to produce the governor and secondly, his party the All Progressives Congress does not have a vice grip on the politics of the area…they need to swim along the tide of the sentiments of the people, leverage on their whims to achieve success and making a Rotimi Makinde gubernatorial candidate would be swimming against a strong tide of public opinion…they cant risk that, most especially with the mess the party is dealing with over the death of Isiaka Adeleke”.

Isiaka Adeleke, a chieftain of the APC and sitting Senator recently suffered a sudden death.

Family members and loyalists alleged his death orchestrated and has to do with strive within his party over his ambition to become flag bearer in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

His supporters are currently fine tuning arrangement with rival party People’s Democratic Party to work against the APC as a sort of payback.

The APC leaders , including Governor Rauf Aregbesola are currently exploring all options available to resolve the situation

Adeleke is from Ede, the area sources claim is in line to produce the next governor of the state.

Main opposition party PDP is said to have zeroed in on picking it’s candidate from the area, especially based on ongoing discussion with the aggrieved Adeleke camp.

“So making a Makinde, who is from Governor Aregbesola’s area APC candidate is political hara kiri for APC, very very suicidal..that is why I insist he cant be the next governor of Osun state” the source stated emphatically
