Rocket Aviation Gets NCAA Approval To Begin Non-Scheduled Flight Operations

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), on June 23, 2026, granted an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Rocket Aviation to commence non-scheduled flight operations in Nigeria following a successful completion of all regulatory and safety requirements.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja, the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo, congratulated,  describing the achievement as a significant milestone.

According to Capt. Najomo, obtaining the certificate was only the beginning of the airline’s responsibilities, as maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence remains paramount.

He, therefore, urged Rocket Aviation to sustain a strong safety culture through strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), effective Crew Resource Management (CRM), timely reporting of safety concerns, and continuous collaboration among pilots and crew members.

He commended Rocket Aviation and the certification team for their dedication throughout the nearly two-year certification process, emphasizing that inspections, reviews, assessments, and continuous regulatory oversight are essential to ensuring accountability and safer skies.

Responding on behalf of Rocket Aviation, the Accounts Manager, Mrs. Bisola Yejide, expressed appreciation to the NCAA management led by Capt. Najomo and the certification team for their guidance, professionalism, and commitment throughout the certification process.

She assured that Rocket Aviation would maintain the safety standards that earned the airline its certification, expressing firm commitment to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement in all aspects of its operations.
