Remi Tinubu Reveals How Much Impact Renewed Hope Initiative Has Brought To Bear
a reaffirmation of the administration’s commitment to inclusion.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu says the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) is steadily reshaping lives across the country, citing fresh interventions carried out to commemorate the 2025 World Disability Day.
The former Senator, who joined the RHI team during activities marking the global observance, said support was extended to 9,500 persons with disabilities nationwide — a gesture she described as a reaffirmation of the administration’s commitment to inclusion.

The day’s activities began at Mambilla Barracks in Abuja, where 250 physically challenged military and police veterans received empowerment items. According to her, the moment underscored the need for a society where no citizen is left behind, especially those who have served the nation.
She noted that coordinators across the 36 states, the FCT and the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) worked simultaneously to ensure beneficiaries in every zone were reached.
The First Lady said the experience also offered an opportunity to reflect on how a nation’s growth is tied to the participation of all its people. She added that in the last two years, more than 100,000 women, traders, small business owners and persons with disabilities have benefitted from RHI programmes.

Mrs Tinubu disclosed that the initiative is set for further institutionalisation as the RHI governing board has approved that the empowerment exercise will now hold annually on December 3, aligning with World Disability Day.
She said the initiative’s expanding footprint demonstrates how coordinated social intervention can deepen inclusion, strengthen communities and reinforce national development.
