Emerging details have revealed the reason former Governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko dumped his Presidential ambition.

‘’It is because he doesn’t have a true ambition in the first place” societynow.ng learned.

Insiders claim that Mimiko only used the position of Presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party to re-launch self back to public consciousness.

Mimiko is fingered as the major financier of Zenith Labour Party.

The former governor dropped out of sight in the face of allegations of negotiating immunity for self with the gubernatorial ambition of People’s Democratic Party candidate Eyotayo Jegede.

Mimoko anointed Jegede to succeed him as Governor of Ondo state.

Societynow.ng learned but contrary to expectation the former governor allegedly failed to give the PDP candidate ‘’much needed” support to win the election that made the ruling party, All Progressives Congress candidate Rotimi Akeredolu Governor of Ondo state.

Mimiko had defected from the PDP – and dropped out of sight – under the shadow of allegations of anti-party activities.

The former governor staged a return from ‘’political oblivion” with the announcement of ambition to become the next President of Nigeria,

Mimiko milked the attention with his emergence as the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party.

‘’But the reality is, Mimiko is too much a shrewd politician to contest for the position of President of Nigeria at this point in time, The result even in Ondo state is clear before election” a source insisted.

‘’He just announced his real intention with the picking up of his party’s senatorial ticket from Gboye Adegbenro for Ondo Central” another source disclosed.

Information available to societynow.ng revealed that Adegbenro is one of the loyalists of Mimiko who held the Senatorial ticket in trust while the former Governor drew attention to self and attempted to enhance his chances  with – behind the scene – political negotiation, to support the serious presidential candidates.

‘’Talks that Adegbenro is aggrieved that Mimiko who is the financial muscle of the Zenith Labour Party has taken away his senatorial ticket is mere play-acting” societynow.ng learned.
