Reactions As EFCC Raids Gbenga Daniel’s Hotel

Agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last night raided Conference Hotel owned by former Governor Gbenga Daniel.

The targetted hotel is situated in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Emerging details have it that EFCC agents stormed the hospitality center on Saturday night – November 27, 2021 – while an event was ongoing.

There are claims lodgers and guests at the event had it rough in the hands of the agents.

Different reactions continue to trail the development against the background of the effects of such raids on hotel businesses and tourism potentials in Ogun State.

Many of the reactions call on Governor Dapo Abiodun to take the EFCC on over the manner of engagements in pursuit of its targets.

A theme of the growing reactions is obtained in responses to a Facebook message by user “Korede Coded”.

“EFCC’s operation in Abeokuta last night is uncalled for, the Governor need (sic) to address it. How can you burst into an event and scatter the whole place to pick people randomly? That’s not acceptable, I’m sure a lot of innocent people will be affected…

The CSO of this state need (sic)to act on this, very sad situation. I can’t count the number of gunshot (sic) I heard last night” Korede posted.

Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State and owner of Conference Hotel earlier in the year – February 2021 – joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
