President Jonathan Rebuffs Ondo P.D.P Guber Candidate, Olusola Oke’s Move To Solicit N1B Campaign Fund!

President Goodluck Jonathan has turned down efforts by Gubernatorial candidate, Olusola Oke for fund to help with his campaign.

Oke is the president’s political party, People’s Democratic Party (P.D.P) flag bearer in the upcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo state.

He was said to have enlisted friend and Senator from Anambra state- Andy Uba to get the president’s financial support.

Sources claimed he requested for N1b with President Goodluck Jonathan

guarantee that he would deliver the state to the party- if given.

Senator Uba had approached President Jonathan via first lady- Patience Jonathan. ( This was shortly before the trip that has left her incapacitated)

The President reportedly rebuffed the request out rightly.

He based his action on reports that ‘the gesture would turn out a big misadventure’

The report claimed the incumbent, Segun Mimiko too popular and on ground to be displaced by some one of Oke’s stature.

It is alleged that ‘the report’ further revealed that, even local P.D.P members – in the state -tacitly support the re election of the incumbent.

‘With such an indicting report available, the President refused the request and advised Oke to go and work towards a favourable report, before asking for support’ an insider revealed

Based on information garnered on the street, Oke is adjudged the least popular of the three major contenders for the number one seat in state up for grab.

The others are Rotimi Akeredolu of Action Congress and incumbent- Segun Mimiko of Labour Party.
