A fad is getting out of hand in Lagos State – and with it looms dire consequences.

Young boys have turned the bleaching of lips till it becomes pink and shiny into a culture.

Societynow.ng gathered that those who engage in the practice believe that ‘’pink lips’’ make them look ‘’better’’.

‘’And in this era of social media, they believe their pictures come out better’’ a source stated.

The information at hand revealed that the ‘’easy’’ access to the creams used has enormously boosted the practice.

‘’The easy access to the creams is one of the major dangers in the practice because all manners of people put together different mixtures in the name of lips bleaching creams and sell at give away prices’’ Societynow.ng gathered.

The prices for the creams are as low as N300 (Three Hundred Naira) and learning how to make them as cheap as N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) with all shades of labels.

Societynow.ng learned that those that are caught in the web of this practice that is getting out of hand falls within the age bracket of 14 – 36 years.
