Oladipupo Adebutu, the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the March 11, 2023, Ogun state gubernatorial election is back from his self-imposed political exile.

Adebutu, who is challenging the electoral win that gave Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a second term in office, announced his return with a public appearance today, December 23, 2023.

He was at the event in the company of his wife, Adenike, and his Deputy Governorship gubernatorial candidate, Abdulkadir Akinlade.

Lado, as the gubernatorial candidate is famously known was one of the major features at the 17th edition of the Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu Christmas Carol Service in Iperu, Ogun State.

Sir Adebutu – the wealthy Nigerian, boardroom guru and Casino- is the gubernatorial candidate’s father.

The gubernatorial candidate traveled out of the country on a self-imposed exile in May 2023 over what he termed threats to life and political threats with roots in the outcome of the Ogun gubernatorial election. He was later declared wanted by the police for his alleged role in the electoral process.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the paramount ruler of Remo land-Akarigbo Babatunde Adéwálé Àjàyí were some of the dignitaries at high profile event.
