Out Of Control Political Fight… Gov Ifeanyi Okowa Sends EFCC After Ex State Helmsman Emmanuel Uduaghan, Associate Dere Otubu Over Alleged Huge Debt Profile

The twists in the raging political fight between Ex Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and the man who succeeded him, Ifeany Okowa has taken another turn.

The incumbent governor has sent anti corruption agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission against the former state helmsman over what is labelled ‘uncovered staggering debt profile’

According to information sourced from online platform thewill the debt at stake is valued at N700 billion.

And caught in the mix of the development is money man Dere Otubu.

Otubu and another Uche Okpunor are listed as beneficiaries of most of the loans that made up the gargantuan debt.

According to thewill ‘ Mr Otubu helped the governor manage the finances of the state and in the process shaved the state of billons in fees and commissions including phoney contracts that were paid in full despite poor execution. The contracts were mostly executed through companies controlled by proxies’

The news spotter claimed EFCC sources corroborated what it labelled ‘common knowledge’.

The foundation for the allegations against Ex Governor Uduaghan and his associates was laid via findings made by the transition committee commissioned by his successor, Gov Ifeanyi Okowa.

The findings paved way for petitions to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission which resulted ongoing investigations that has resulted in repeated questioning of Delta state government officials involved with the administration of Mr Uduaghan- as well as State House of Assembly members alleged to be complicit.

It is however an open secret that outside of findings and ongoing investigation of ex governor Uduaghan and his associates, the former state helms man and his successor though in the same party (PDP) are in opposing political divides in Delta state.

Their conflict reportedly stemmed from Ex Governor Uduaghan’s preference for another aspirant to support him before Okowa emerged People’s Democratic Party candidate and eventual successor.

But since he assumed office, the new man is said to have embarked on moves that questions the actions and in actions of his predecessor.
