to support residents struggling to start or expand their small businesses.
Governor Bassey Otu says the Cross River State Executive Council has approved the purchase of 150 mini buses to support residents struggling to start or expand their small businesses.
Otu described the initiative as a practical and timely intervention aimed at boosting productivity and helping families rebuild after tough economic conditions. He said the buses would serve as business assets for 150 beneficiary groups and would support a range of activities including small-scale logistics, rural and urban transport services, and community-level enterprise.
According to the governor, the buses will be shared equitably across the state, with each senatorial district allocated 50 units to ensure fairness and balanced impact. He added that the administration is committed to ensuring quick implementation, noting that all buses would be procured and distributed within the year so beneficiaries can begin to feel the benefits immediately.
Otu said the initiative reflects his government’s broader commitment to inclusive development and ensuring that no segment of the population is left behind as the state continues its growth trajectory.
“Cross River will continue to rise,” he said, reaffirming the administration’s drive to empower citizens with tools that enable real economic progress.
