Osun Guber: “Chairman”, Powerful PDP Figures Refused To Attend Inauguration Of Adeleke’s Campaign Council

Powerful players in the People’s Democratic Party – including serving governors – did not attend the inauguration of the campaign committee for Demola Adeleke, the party’s gubernatorial candidate in Osun State.

The Osun State gubernatorial election takes place on July 16, 2022.

The appointed chairman of the committee – and Governor of Bayelsa state – Duoye Diri and the vice-chairmen Governors Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, and Samuel Ortom of Benue State did not attend the inauguration held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 according to a report monitored by SocietyNow.Ng on thecable.ng.

Other powerful players in the PDP that were also absent at the ceremony include Govenor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu; Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers.

The acting national chairman of the PDP Umar Damagum, vice presidential candidate – and governor of delta state – Ifeanyi Okowa and Darius Ishaku, the governor of Taraba state, and other National Working Committee (NWC) members of the party were, however, present at the inauguration more information sourced on the report on thecable.ng by SocietyNow.Ng revealed.

It is believed that the absence of the other powerful figures is part of the fallout of the Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar picking Okowa instead of Wike as his vice presidential candidate – against the recommendations of those that partook process.
