Osun Govt To Enrol Traditional Rulers, Spouses Into Health Insurance Scheme

towards ensuring qualitative, accessible and affordable healthcare

The Osun Health Insurance Agency has commenced arrangements to enroll all Traditional Rulers across Osun State and their spouses into the State Health Insurance Scheme, in line with the directive of the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

This initiative is a clear demonstration of the unwavering commitment of Governor Adeleke towards ensuring qualitative, accessible and affordable healthcare delivery for every resident of Osun State irrespective of social status, class or background.

The Executive Secretary of OHIS, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, stated that the present administration remains passionate about the health and wellbeing of the people, hence the decision to extend the benefits of the State Health Insurance Scheme to revered traditional institutions across the state.

According to him, the agency has already put necessary machineries in motion to ensure a seamless enrollment exercise. He disclosed that officials of the agency will commence visits to palaces of Traditional Rulers across the state beginning from Wednesday, 20th May, 2026 and will runs two weeks, for the registration and enrollment process.

Dr. Akindele further noted that the gesture is aimed at strengthening healthcare access for royal fathers and their spouses while appreciating their immense contributions towards peace, unity and development in Osun State.

He assured that OHIS remains committed to implementing people-oriented health policies that will continue to improve the living standards and wellbeing of residents across the state.
