The peace brokered to protect the Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa from impeachment is gone.

The number two citizen of Ondo state is facing renewed threats.

Fresh moves are being made to ouster remove him.

This development comes barely a month after a political solution was brokered to let Aiyedatiwa see out his term as the Deputy Governor.

The political solution was perfected by top players within the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level because of the unwanted attraction, the borderless attacks on Aiyedatiwa, were giving the party.

But after barely a month of respite, the moves to kick out Aiyedatiwa have been renewed.

And those against him are reverting type with unflattering old tales, coloured as new, resurfacing to paint the Deputy Governor black.

Aiyedatiwa has been the subject of unrelenting attacks for over a year as part of attempts to scuttle his chances of succeeding Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Akeredolu finishes his constitutionally allowed two-term mandate next year – 2024.

The Governor’s open preference for his Deputy to succeed him kick-started a chain reaction that made the latter the subject of unrelenting attacks that spoiled their relationship.

With the Governor still grappling with a protracted illness, power mongers are exploiting the vacuum to get Aiyedatiwa out of office.
