Otunba Iyiola Omisore has all but officially dropped his gubernatorial ambition.

According to information available to societynow, this development is the fall out of intense negotiation with the former senator by the People’s Democratic Party stakeholders in Osun state – and beyond.

Omisore was party’s flag bearer in the last gubernatorial election in the state.

Omisore a top-level People’s Democratic Party chieftain had indicated interest to re-contest.

And vowed not to step down for “anyone” as another gubernatorial election beckons in Osun state.

“His lifelong dream is to become Governor of Osun state” a source asserted.

But fresh revelations have it that People’s Democratic Party stakeholders within and outside Osun state have made the former Senator see reason that pursuing his lifelong ambition may not be in the interest of the party in Osun state.

Those concerned are said to have engaged the former deputy governor of Osun state in “serious negotiation” to determine better ways to protect his political interests.

“The result is an agreement in principle that he would drop his gubernatorial ambition and support whoever emerges the party’s candidate” a source stated.
