Oleku Concert Organizer, Deji Osibogun Accused Of Multi Million Fraud!
…Owes partners, diverts revenue into Private Pocket!
…’We owe just 3 key partners less than 75% fee’ -WTS boss
Information filtering to societynowng.com revealed that the promoter of celebrated concert Oleku, Otunba Deji Osibogun and those that helped facilitate the astounding musical fusion of master musicians, King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey are at logger heads.
The bone of contention is said to be money.
Otunba Osibogun, stands accused of failing to meet his financial pledges to his partners in the enterprise.
He is alleged to have diverted revenues into private coffers- leaving his co workers in the project high and dry.
Sources claimed allegation against him stemmed from allegation of covertly introducing new costs after the show- to justify ballooned expenditure.
Specific mention was made to a live transmission fee of N11m- the boss of WTS broadcast was said to have initially told his partners, the service was meant as support free of charge.
He later told them that he paid N11m for the show.
Informants claimed the Lagos socialite’s antics after the event left a lot to be desire.
He was said to have travelled out and remained incommunicado immediately after the event.
On his return, he reportedly shunned calls- and in cases he entertained, issued cheques that were not honoured!
Informants claimed this development had created a widening gulf of conflict between Otunba Osibogun and his partners in the event held on May 27 2012 at Harbour Point, Ikoyi Lagos.
However on Wednesday July 4 2012, when societynowng.com spoke with the Oleku promoter he claimed the development a result of ‘pull him down syndrome’.
He admitted he owe some people but clarified ‘ they are just three partners..Dudu productions, Laolu Akins and Kiss Events’
‘What we did was make 75% payment of their fees to all those we worked before we staged the show. The out standings to those concerned, we have made committed that we will pay them. We have written to them to show we are committed to paying. We are still expecting money from some quarters. And we have other projects we are working on as well’
He however maintained that contrary to claims he paid for the television broadcast.
‘We paid N9m for it. It was aired on N.T.A and other all south west stations. OGTV, BCOS LTV and others. It was a live transmission’
‘What I see about all this is that no matter how good what you do is, some people some where are always out to say what they like about it. We operated on a budget of about N50m and what we owe is less than N4m. I wonder where the fraud is’ he summed up his opinion on the issue.
