Oily War!… Petrol Minister Ibe Kachikwu & NNPC Boss Maikanti Baru’s Hush Hush But Intense Fight Erupts Into The Open

The hush intense fight between Minister of state for petroleum Ibe Kachikwu and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has erupted into the open.

This is courtesy of a communication to President Muhammadu Buhari by Kachikwu which details alarming charges against Baru.

The communication accuses the NNPC boss of illegal practices hindering the progress of the nation’s petroleum sector and outright insubordination.

Insiders claim the root cause of the fight as a do or die struggle for power and influence with the gladiators having powerful players in government and business lined behind the gladiators on either side.

The intense war remains shielded from the public until the leaked communication to president Buhari by Kachikwu.

The minister claimed he was forced to write the letter due to inability to secure a meeting with the President.

Some believe his failure to meet with the president fallout of his raging fight with Baru.

The NNPC Boss appears to wield more influence in the corridors of power than the Minister.

And the letter by Kachikwu was meant to bypass the “blockade” created by the influence of his foe.

But whether by commission or omission, the leaked communication has now thrown the fight open to the court of public open to debate on – but with a one-sided allegation at play.
