Ogun Upates Progress On Reconstruction Of Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway
with multiple work fronts active across key sections
The Prince Dapo Abiodun–led administration continues to record measurable progress on the reconstruction of the Lagos–Abeokuta Road, with multiple work fronts active across key sections of the corridor.
At Ewekoro, construction of rigid pavement is ongoing on the left-hand side, alongside reinforced concrete drainage works in front of the Lafarge Cement factory.
Similar rigid pavement construction is also progressing at GPC, Ewekoro–Papalanto on the right-hand side.
In Sango Ota, asphalt laying of both the binder and wearing courses has been completed in front of the Matrix petrol station on the right-hand side, while the wearing course has also been laid on the outer lane at Obada Oko.
Further along the route, grading and compaction of the sub-base course are underway at Itori, around the Itori Police Station axis, with quality laterite being spread as sub-base material on another section of the same corridor. At Iyana Ilogbo, spreading and compaction of the sub-base course are also in progress.
These coordinated efforts reflect the administration’s commitment to delivering a durable, high-quality Lagos–Abeokuta Road that will ease traffic flow, enhance safety, and support economic activities across Ogun State.
