Former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Muyiwa Oladipo, is quietly preparing for the 2027 elections, insiders say.

“He has been holding a series of high-profile meetings that suggest something is in the works,” one source disclosed.

Oladipo’s renewed visibility follows his strong showing as a leading aspirant in the recent Remo bye-election, where he narrowly lost the APC ticket — a setback linked largely to his political alignment.

A top-level member of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun (SIA) political family, Oladipo served twice as Commissioner under Amosun’s administration and was behind one of its most celebrated legacies — the Ogun Drum Festival.

The cultural project, which earned the state national and international recognition, has been dormant since Governor Dapo Abiodun took office in 2019.

Since he accepted the party’s decision and worked for the victory of APC candidate Adesola Elegbeji in the August 16 Remo bye-election, Oladipo has maintained a low profile but intensified behind-the-scenes political activities.

“He’s been discreet, but his quiet consultations have picked up pace — all signs point to 2027,” another insider said.

Amosun, whose camp Oladipo is aligned with, is also said to be playing a strategic role in President Bola Tinubu’s push for a second term, sources added.
