Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has revealed why he gave Tony Kabaka (Tony Adun) a cow and rice as Christmas gifts.

Kabaka who is the Youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state went all out against Obaseki securing a second term in office.

Obaseki left the APC for the PDP (People’s Democratic) to win a second term.

Kabaka has been on the receiving end of the might of the Edo State Government since Obaseki’s new term in office started in November 2020.

APC youths leader was forced to publicly seek the Governor’s forgiveness – even in Church.

And Obaseki showed forgiveness with a Christmas gift of Cow and rice to the politician with a strong street following.

Speaking on reactions trailing the move in a recent engagement with leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in his Oredo Local Government Area of the state, Governor Obaseki stated

“since last night, I have been hearing lots of comments that I gave cow and rice to Kabaka. I read some people who said they are my supporters and I felt bad. I say they are not my supporters.

“This is Christmas, we are celebrating Christ, the basis of our Christianity and religion. Before politics, we are human beings, so if we cannot show humanity, then we will not be humble politicians.

“If a grandfather can come out in the social media to beg for forgiveness, go to church and beg for forgiveness, who am I not to forgive the person.

“I am a mere mortal. I am governor today because of God, so if I now play God I am not sure God will forgive me”
