Details available to societynow.ng revealed that Seyi, the son of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has a big say in the newly constituted Executive of the Lagos state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.

Insiders disclosed that this development has to do with the huge role he played in the ‘’takeover’’ of the Union by the team led by Mustapha Adekunle (Seego) and Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo).

Sources disclosed that though Seego and MC Oluomo are known supporters of ‘’everything Tinubu’’, they needed all the support they could muster to fend off interests against their ‘’takeover’’ of the Lagos state NURTW.

Societynow.ng gathered that the strong opposition championed by immediate past union chairman Tajudeen Agbede almost returned former Lagos NURTW helmsman Akanni Olohunwa to the saddle as a ‘’compromise’’ of a sort in the fight against Oluomo and his crew.

‘’This was after Oluomo was named the caretaker committee chairman and the members named’’ societynow.ng learned.

Insiders disclosed that some ‘’powerful political interests’’ threw up Olohunwa’s name and started campaigning that neither Oluomo nor anybody backed by Agbede should be made the substantive NURTW chairman in Lagos state for peace to reign.

‘’The candidature of Olohunwa was pushed but Seyi Tinubu stood up for Oloumo, rallied other influential players of his father’s inner caucus and relentlessly campaigned for Asiwaju Tinubu to endorse him’’ a source stated and added ‘’it was the first time Seyi Tinubu actually stood up to the politicians that attempted to return Olohunwa and he got away with it to the great relief of Oluomo and his team’’.

Societynow.ng learned it was when Asiwaju Tinubu signed off on it that Oluomo was installed as the substantive NURTW in Lagos state, thanks to Seyi Tinubu’s countermeasures that knocked off the plot to return Olohunwa in the guise of making peace between Agbede and Oluomo.

‘’That is why Oluomo and his new executive members do not toy with anything that has to do with Seyi Tinubu at present…they nearly lost out based on the caliber of those that backed the return of Olohunwa’’ a source asserted.
