No More War!….At Last, Ooni of Ife, Oba Akinrutan Make Peace

Emerging details have it that the war of words – and status – between the Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Olugbo of Igboland Obateru Akinrutan is about to become a thing of the past.

Societynow.ng learned that this development is courtesy of an ongoing intervention by a body of Yoruba traditional rulers operating under the emblem of HeritageForum.

Societynow.ng gathered the forum which promotes culture and tourism makes unity amongst Yoruba Obas a priority.

Societynow.ng gathered that the on-going intervention resulted in the ‘’sheath of swords’’ in the public exchange over the correctness of certain portions of the history of the Yoruba race by the Ooni and Olugbo.

‘’The fence-mending initiative is bearing good fruits’’ a source stated.

Societynow.ng gathered that the process being navigated is how to perfect the process and make it public while protecting the integrity of the Ooni and the Olugbo.

Popular – and established – historical accounts confirm the Ooni as the number traditional ruler in Yorubaland but the Olugbo’s attempt to lay claim to this status created conflict between the two monarchs.

Interestingly, Olugbo made the move at a time a new – and younger – Ooni assumed the revered throne of Ife.
