The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has strongly denied allegations in a viral video suggesting that its fuel does not last, labeling the claim as baseless and misleading.
In a statement issued by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, NNPC Ltd described the video as a product of unverified and amateur research lacking credibility and professional oversight.
The company reassured Nigerians that its fuel is formulated to meet high efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability standards.
The statement further clarified that a substantial portion of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold at NNPC retail stations in Lagos—where the controversial video originated—is sourced from the Dangote Refinery.
The refinery, a strategic partner of NNPC Ltd, adheres to strict industry regulations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality petroleum products.
NNPC Ltd condemned the video as a deliberate attempt by economic saboteurs to mislead the public and tarnish its reputation.
The company vowed to take legal action against individuals or groups spreading falsehoods about its operations, stressing that those responsible would be held accountable under the law.
Urging Nigerians to rely on verified sources for accurate information, NNPC Ltd reaffirmed its commitment to fuel availability, affordability, and quality while upholding global industry standards.
