Meet Val Ozigbo, Ex-Banker Who May Become Next Gov Of Anambra
The last son of a retired school headmaster (Andrew Ozigbo) and businesswoman (Christiana Ozigbo)
Valentine Chineto “Val” Ozigbo is one of the strong contenders to become the next Governor of Anambra State.
Ozigbo, 51, has seventeen years of banking experience under his belt.
His experience spans with NAL Merchant Bank, Diamond Bank, Continental Trust Bank, FSB International Bank, Standard Trust Bank, United Bank for Africa, and Bank PHB.
The July born was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Transcorp Hotels Plc. from October 2011 – December 2018.
As CEO of Transcorp Hotels, he oversaw expansions into different cities in Nigeria and oversubscribed N8Billion Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2014.
A British Chevening Scholar in 2003–04, Ozigbo studied Accounting at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka graduating with the class of 1994 with the best result in both Accounting and Business Administration.
A holder of MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2000) and an MSc in finance with distinction from the Lancaster University, United Kingdom ( 2004), Ozigbo is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Institute of Credit Administration.
The last son of a retired school headmaster (Andrew Ozigbo) and businesswoman (Christiana Ozigbo) is the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 6, 2021, Gubernatorial Election in Anambra state.
He is married to Mary-Callista Ojiugo and is a father of four (Mario Obioma Ugochukwu, Chimdi Angello, and Mitchel Chima and the only girl, Valerie Chioma.
