Emerging details have revealed that it is entirely wrong to say that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has limited the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbto to the politics of Osun State.

Those peddling this narrative premise it on the dissolution of the Mandate group with Aregbesola as a major player and the Minister’s name, not on the ‘‘renewed’’ list of members of the famed Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC).

‘’The truth is that Aregbesola has never been a member of the GAC’’  a source stated simply to societynow.ng.

And added ‘’ All the influence and power that Aregbesola has mustered to achieve all the things he has achieved in Lagos State, he did that without being a member of GAC, so how does not having his name on the renewed list mean banishing him to the politics of Osun State’’.

According to findings made by societynow.ng the Governor’s Advisory Council was set up by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu after his two-term tenure – 4years each – as Governor of Lagos State.

‘’In his taking over the structure of his party then, Asiwaju Tinubu empowered young politicians loyal to him and in the bid to give the older politicians a semblance of recognition the GAC was set up and at that time Aregbesola was neck-deep in the fight to become the Governor of Osun State

‘’By the time GAC  became a formidable platform Aregbesola was Governor of Osun State and it goes without saying that you can’t make someone that was fighting to become the governor of another state or the governor of another a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council in Lagos State’’ an insider explained.

Regarding the dissolution of Mandate Group and its effect on the political influence of Aegbesola in Lagos state, a source disclosed ‘’It was not only the Mandate that was dissolved every other caucus was banned, and frankly speaking Aregbesola’s influence  in the politics of Lagos State transcends a group and don’t forget that aside an army of loyalists beholden to him because of this or that favor, he remains one of the most trusted associates of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu irrespective of the attempts to put asunder by his political enemies.’’
