His Joker…Why Underdog Dayo Bush-Alebiosu May Pull A Big Surprise In Race To Pick Bayo ‘’Pepper’’ Osinowo’s Successor In Senate

‘’I don’t really see him as in the race’’ a source disclosed in a statement that points to Dayo Bush-Alebiosu as an underdog in the erupting moves to determine the successor late Bayo Osinowo better known as ‘’Pepper’’ (the shortened form of Pepperito as he was fond of saying) in the Senate.

Checks by societynow.ng, however, revealed that there are silent indications that the ‘’underdog’’ may pull a huge surprise if fate doesn’t work against him.

Dayo Bush as he is better known is a former two-term member of the Federal House of Representatives from Kosofe, the constituency that produced the late Bayo Osinowo.

Osinowo served a year as Senator before the cold hands of snatched him away – he has three years left on his ‘’ mandate’’.

Societynow.ng gathered that as interests from aspirants in other areas of Lagos East come to the fore in the Senatorial seat up for grab, political interests in Kosofe are aligning to retain the seat in their ‘’zone’’.

Dayo Bush is one of the visible and ‘’senior’’ politicians in that particular zone without an elected office or appointment to his name in this political dispensation.

The checks by societynow.ng, however, revealed he faces opposition from the political family of the late Senator Pepper.

In the political family are major players from the zone Rotimi Agunsoye – who took over the zone’s House of Representatives seat from Dayo Bush and his on his second term – and Tunde Buraimoh.

The political family led by the late Senator Osinowo and silently backed by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has twice denied Dayo Bush a return to the Federal House of Representatives.

‘’It is a given that the Pepper group would want one of their own to replace their principal in the Senate’’ a source disclosed.

Insiders, however, disclosed that Dayo Bush has a joker in his father, the legendary Alhaji Busura Alebioshu.

The politician wealthy in riches and connections has fully regained his might in the politics of Lagos state with the ban on all groups and caucuses societynow.ng learned.

‘’Alhaji Busura had issues with Tinubu over which groups controlled what and Asiwaju targeted him by empowering pepper who operates in his base to contain the senior bush’s influence but with the ban on groups and death of Senator Pepper, the equation is changed’’ a source stated.

‘’If Baba Bush (Alhaji Busura) puts his skin into it for Dayo Bush to become the next Senator from Lagos East, all things being equal, it should happen because the argument would be that the slot belongs to his zone and his son is indeed qualified, and that is taking into consideration the persecutions that denied Dayo Bush a return to the House of Representatives twice and despite that he stayed committed to the party’’ another source threw in.

The further checks by societynow.ng revealed that at press time the general belief is that whoever gets the ticket of the All Progressives Congress would most likely become the next Senator from Lagos East because of the strong influence the party wields in the politics of Lagos State – and all eyes are on shots caller Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to have the final say on the candidate.
