It is iron cast, Jide Sanwoolu is the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

Sanwoolu emerged in a development that condemns the attempts by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to retain party’s ticket to dreamland.

Societynow.ng learned that a new move is underway.

And the prize at stake is who occupies the position of Sanwoolu’s deputy governorship candidate.

Insiders disclosed to societynow.ng that despite talks of a deal with Femi Hamzat before the gubernatorial primary that made Sanwoolu the flag bearer of Lagos APC, three names are currently been bandied about as possible deputy governorship candidate.

The names are Femi Hamzat, Hakeem Murhi Okunola and Folorunsho Folarin Coker.

All three are have been an integral part of the development process of Lagos state since the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Hamzat was former commissioner for works while Coker worked directly with Asiwaju Tinubu and former Governor Babatunde Fashola – in one on one relationship – at the top echelon of governance.

Coker’s exit from the administration of Ambode took away the shine from One Lagos, the talking point of the administration.

The Friend of many more popularly known as Folly is the current Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC)

Murhi Okunola was the former permanent secretary in the ministry of Lands relegated to “oblivion” by Ambode in his ill-fated targeting of loyalists of perceived “enemies”.

Societynow.ng, however, learned Hamzat remains in pole position to take the ticket.

An informed source disclosed to societynow.ng that “as at now Hamzat is the person pencilled down for that position”.

Added revelation has it that both Murhi Okunola and Coker come from Lagos Central, the same political district as Sanwoolu.

“I don’t see the party taking away everything from Lagos East and giving the governorship and deputy governorship position to Lagos Central”, a source stated to societynow.ng.

More revelation has it that Hamzat is being seriously considered because he uses Epe, the same zone as incumbent governor Ambode, as his main political base.

“So there is an obvious advantage there as well” societynow.ng learned.

Checks by societynow.ng revealed that though the permutations favour Hamzat to emerge as the deputy governorship candidate to Sanwoolu there are still those to believe “in politics anything can happen, especially in this case”.
