Ashafa On The Verge Of Losing Senatorial Ticket To “Pepper” Osinowo!

Information available to societynow.ng has it that Senator Representing Lagos East, Gbenga Bareehu Ashafa is about to lose his senatorial ticket.

Ashafa faces more grounded politician Bayo Osinowo – popularly known as Pepper – in attempt to retain party ticket for his re-election.

Osinowo is confirmed to enjoy the support of the party leadership, including that of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu against Ashafa.

Societynow.ng learned the invaluable support he enjoys and his deep clout in grass root politics is about to make Osinowo the All Progressives Congress candidate for Lagos East.

This is said to be outside propaganda of alleged disqualification against Osinowo as the senatorial primary held.

“We decided to just focus on mobilizing our people to vote for our cause rather than be distracted with fighting the false accusation of disqualification” a source stated.

Societynow.ng learned it appears the ploy worked for Osinowo and his backers as they insist “even the other side knows that we won convincingly. We have the results and they have the results, but they came up with issues which are being sorted out by the party. And am sure whatever they came up won’t affect use being declared winner” an inside source insist.

Reacting to allegations of disqualification the source pointed out “let’s look at the facts. Outside of the noise, did the accusers come out with any proof? When Adebayo Shittu was disqualified in Oyo state the party wrote and stated in the clear term the reason for its action. The same thing happened in the case of Mama Taraba (Aisha Alhassan), so if Pepper was disqualified like they claim why didn’t the people claiming so show reason?”

“If Ashafa was unopposed like they claimed why were election monitors sent? What is delaying the result?. We understand the kind politicking they attempted and we refused to be lured into their trap. We have voted and like I said the result will vindicate us.”

Societynow.ng gathered while the Osinowo camp appears to be upbeat about the result of the election, the Ashafa side is apprehensive telling whoever cares to know that Tinubu has chosen to deal with the Senator for reason “unknown”.

Insiders, however, claim that Tinubu is not happy with Ashafa for “fraternizing” with those that attempted to take away his powers.
