Loyalists Tell Why Amosun Won’t Be On List Of Tinubu’s Ministers

Ibikunle Amosun, the 65year old immediate past Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district won’t be on the list of President Bola Tinubu’s ministers according to those close to him.

“He has said it to all who care to listen that he wont take any ministerial appointment but rather present his followers ” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

This assertion comes in the face of great anticipation over the list expected to be made public this week.

It also carpets emerging talks of touted benefits of stepping down for President Bola Tinubu to become the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) last year.

Amosun, a former two-term Governor of Ogun state (29 May 2011 – 29 May 2019) was at a point of the most powerful players in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He aspired to become the Presidential candidate of the APC to succeed Buhari but stepped down on the day of the party’s primary in support of Tinubu, urging all other contenders to do the same.

The former Governor went on to deploy his political structure to work for Tinubu’s emergence as President despite taking contrary position against Governor Dapo Abiodun who had taken control of the party at the state level.

According to insiders the names of his loyalists are expected to be on the list President Tinubu’s nominees for Federal appointments and not that of the Senator.
