Information at the disposal of societynowng.com revealed that MIC and Ebony caskets are at war over who gets the nod to bury the respected individual whose death has attracted reactions that spreads across the border of the country.
Sources divulged the intense fight of influence as spilled into the public domain.
Informants divulged that the situation is such that the two funeral homes have placed multiple condolence registers at the Ikenne, Ogun state residence of the departed to stake claims to the burial ceremony.
Information sourced by societynowng.com revealed that behind this public spat are raging lobbying of decision makers – particular children and members of the burial committee.
A source who should know revealed that for a loss of the business for late Tunji Okunsanya’s business would establish the complete domination of his fierce rival in Dehinde Harrison on the terrain.
And the reason for this is simple….the mega burial up for grabs lies in Okunsanya’s backyard, Ogun state the state of origin of the late pall bearer.
Dehinde Harrison, the other competitor is from Lagos state.
According to a source ‘the state of thing is that both are competent funeral homes with good track records and experiences to their names…the difference is Okunsanya is gone and Dehinde is alive, the new MIC boss is trying to make up for this difference by working the tribal sentiment that MIC though how that is playing out is not clear’
Information available revealed that Bolance, the first daughter of the late Okunsanya is striving hard to get the business pleading that it would be a great service to the state and his father’s memory that MIC bury the late national figure. It would be an all out Ogun state affair.
Further digs revealed the importance of securing the business for MIC Caskets lays in happenstances since the death of Okunsanya, his son Junior and some of his workers in the associated airlines plane crash conveying the body of late Ondo governor Olusegun Agagu for burial.
Sources here and there revealed no longer faced with the contending presence of his rival- Dehinde Harrison has corner virtually all major businesses up for grabs.
Bolanle, the new MIC boss and first daughter of the founder was not groomed to succeed her father though insiders claimed she is trying hard to make a success of the situation she has found self as shown in the spirit shown so far in the battle for HID burial.
‘if Okunsanya were alive, there wont be any contention…like HID, he was from Ogun state and same tribe Ijebu so the business would have been his for the taking…but unfortunately is influences and wealth of contact are presently lacking’ an insider analysed.
Societynowng.com learnt there are those that believe that Dehinde Harrison should have left the burial to MIC Caskets as a sigh of respect to the memory of the man died along with his heir apparent and workers in the course of duty, but others counter this position with claims ‘if he does with a business of this magnitude, he allows his competitor back into reckoning and which serious business man ever does that?’
Societynowng.com learnt at present it is not sure which of the warring funeral homes is likely to come out tops as the intense battle become HID Awolowo’s official pall bearer rages on.
