Lagos Guber Aspirant, Femi Hamzat’s Elder Brother, Ganiyu “Contesting” To Become Senator In Ogun State

An interesting political scenario is unfolding in Lagos and Ogun states.

Two brothers are vying for political positions in the two States.

One wants to be Governor and the other has the ambition to become a Senator societynow.ng confirmed.

An investigation conducted by societynow.ng revealed that Ganiyu the elder brother of Obafemi Hamzat wants to become the Senator Representing Ogun Central.

Obafemi Hamzat is one of the touted gubernatorial aspirants that may upset the re-election bid of embattled Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos.

Both Hamzat and Ganiyu are have purchased the All Progressives Congress forms declaring their intentions and billed to contest the party’s primary in the attempts to become candidates in Ogun and Lagos states.

Obafemi and Ganiyu are sons of powerful Lagos politician turned monarch in Ogun state, Olatunji Hamzat.

The aspirants’ father is a traditional ruler in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun state.

Interestingly Ganiyu who is angling to become the Senator representing Ogun Central was a multiple – term Federal House of Representatives who represented Lagos state.

Societynow.ng learned Ganiyu is up against re-election seeking Lanre Tejuosho and Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosun has declared the intention to become the next Senator representing Ogun Central.

‘’If Obafemi and Ganiyu Hamzat actually achieved their ambition, it would be a record-setting achievement having two brothers elected into very senior elective positions in different states, that would be something else” a source stated to societynow.ng.
