Labour Party Loses Rep Seat To APC In Lagos

APC members in the state who celebrated it in admirable fashion.

A former Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Lanre Ogunyemi was on Thursday declared winner of the Ojo Federal Constituency seat by the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Lagos.

The three man panel, Panel 3 sitting at the old National Assembly complex, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos declared Ogunyemi, former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and his party, APC winner of the election conducted on Saturday, 25 February, 2023.

Members of the panel are: Justice Ashu A. Ewah, Chairman; Justice Abdullahi A Ozegya; and Justice M A Sambo.

Ogunyemi had challenged Oluwaseyi Ayopo Sowunim of the Labour Party who was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The verdict was very well received by APC members in the state who celebrated it in admirable fashion.

“This is a good and welcome development. We are happy and we know that Hon Ogunyemi has what it takes – the experience, the educational qualifications, the passion and commitment to represent us all well in the National Assembly, said a jubilant member of the APC.
