Those familiar with the politics of Ogun West insist that Solomon Olamilekan Adeola appears to be the only senatorial candidate in the zone for the 2023 election since the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared the campaign for the 2023 election open.

Adeola the Lagos Senator popularly called Yayi is the Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun West for the 2023 election.

“Th manner he is carrying out his campaign has been so intense that he appears to be the only Senatorial candidate for the election” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Yayi has officially campaigned in three of the five local governments in the area -Ipokia, Ado Odo Ota, and Yewa North and those who should know insist the crowd he mustered at each point was massive.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that the following and talks generated by the campaign of the Senatorial candidate who started his campaign in Imeko Afon Local Government this week are such that the activities of his main opponent, Ganiyu Adeleke Dada have been overshadowed.

Ganiyu Adeleke Dada is the Senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun West.

The PDP senatorial candidate is a member of the esteemed Olota -In- Council but sources insist he has not put up anything near Yayi in openly campaigning for the 2023 election.

“When Yayi came to Dada’s stronghold in Ota (Ado Odo Ota LG) the turnout of supporters and sympathizers was overwhelming. Traffic was at a standstill for hours on major roads like Oju-Ore, Joju, Iju, Sango and all. And even in the interiors. Dada’s campaign has not drawn anything near half of what Yayi pulled. Few people claimed to have Dada’s campaign” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Ganiyu Dada

A very popular politician in Ado Odo Ota, Dada was touted as the man to put a stop to the senatorial ambition of Yayi until the campaign was officially declared open.

Yayi has been the frontrunner by kilometres in terms of growing popularity since then, even in Dada’s political base.

It is also an added advantage to Yayi that he is having direct engagements with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and harrow heads of street boys wherever he campaigns and addressing immediate needs and making commitments on communal challenges that cannot be solved right away.

“That is handlers are making use of social media push narratives about his campaign is also proving a major edge” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

Yayi’s image handlers do live videos off his campaign rally and visits on different platforms and use different telling pictures of the engagements here and there.

Multiple sources agree that another major talking point from Yayi’s campaign is personally touching the interiors, and going to localities that candidates of his supposed status rarely visit.

“His campaign has become so grounded and intense that the question on the lips of those who are not too inclined to him is where is the alternative” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
