Folorunsho Folarin -Coker, the Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has hit the town with good news.
Another project in the zeal to make tourism the new oil is near completion.
The nation’s number one tourism boss disclosed during the week that the Kwatarkwashi Rock Project is “near completion”.
SocietyNow.Ng’s checks revealed that the Kwatarkwashi rock is an arresting formation about 350 metres above sea level and boasts of some 1 square kilometer landmass of captivating natural scenery.
Enchanting tales about the place to be also known as Kwatarkwashi hills also add to its allure.
The exotic rock of multi-dimensional pleasure is located in Kwatarkwashi town, Bugundu Local Government area of Zamfara State.
According to the recent disclosure by the NTDC boss, the tourists’ delight is being transformed into a “recreational center featuring fun activities for all age groups..the project is near completion”.
Folarin-Coker who is vigorously pushing domestic tourism with the Tour Nigeria agenda- which the Kwatarkwashi Rock Project is a part of – expressed his delight with work done with the assertion that “we are excited about the progress made so far and the economic and social values it will contribute to the State (Zamfara).”
The Baba Eto of Yorubaland announced the glad tidings during a courtesy visit by Senator Hassan Muhammed Gusau, Zamfara Centra Senatorial representative, and his team to his office.
Tour Nigeria launched by Folarin – Coker in his first term in office is part of a vision to promote Nigeria as the destination of choice for tourism hospitality, arts, and entertainment in Africa and enhance patronage of the Nigerian tourism industry by locals.”
This move is against the backdrop of a relentless push by the NTDC Director-General to achieve an enabling legal framework to aid the growth of the nation’s tourism potentials beyond measures.
