The battle to determine the next governor of Ekiti state has taken an unexpected twist.

It is now being fought in the “burial ground”.

All Progressives Congress aspirant Babafemi Ojudu has dragged outgoing People’s Democratic Party Governor Ayodele Fayose to the morbid place.

Ojudu in attempt to claim to be a better man than Fayose is claiming to have provided the better burial place for his parents.

He posted images of his parents’ graves on social media challenging Fayose to do same.

The information machinery of Fayose with media aide Lere Olayinka as point man has consistently accused Ojudu of failing to care for his parent and leaving them in poverty till death.

The allegation is being used as a campaign against Ojudu that a man that failed to care for his loved ones can’t be trusted to better the lives of Ekiti people as governor.

“Ojudu is obviously facing the allegation headlong once and for all by dragging his chief opponent to the burial place of his parents and turning the table of the smear campaign against the patron of the chief campaigner against him” a source pointed out.Ayo Fayose

Checks revealed Ojudu daring Fayose to post pictures of the burial place of his parents is obviously dredging up the messy episode of the alleged ‘corpse” snatching drama that decorated the burial of the governor’s father in Ekiti.

Fayose’s late sister Sorinolu had speared an intense family war against the governor over where to bury the patriarch of the family.

Though Fayose eventually had his way, the development resulted in a double burial – one with the corpse and the other without.

Keen followers of happening in Ekiti insist the latest twist is just an eye-opener into the kind of mess to come.

Fayose is facing a lot of heat because of his hard stance to install his deputy Olusola Eleka as his successor.

To his credit, he remains the most visible face of main opposition party People’s Democratic Party in the country.
