Gubernatorial candidate Dapo Abiodun and his crew have their work cut out for them when President Muhammadu Buhari visits Ogun state.

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit Ogun state later this month to officially hand over party’s flag to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress’ candidate Dapo Abiodun.

Abiodun emerged the APC gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state against stiff opposition from Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Amosun has refused to back down from his opposition to Abiodun becoming next Governor of Ogun state.

The governor has gone as far as planting his preferred choice Adekunle Akinlade in a rival political party, Allied People’s Movement.

Amosun is said to be heavily backing Akinlade to become next governor while he retains status as leader of the APC in Ogun state.

Societynow.ng learned the plot to shame Abiodun when President Buhari visits Ogun state is to further boost Akinlade’s chances at the poll.

Those who should know claim the plot revolves around getting as many people as possible into the campaign ground – in the guise of being APC members – to boo Abiodun and chant rejections songs.

Insiders claim the move is to validate Amosun’s assertion to the President that Abiodun does not have local support and popularity to become governor.

There are allegations that former APC members who have defected to APM in sympathy with Akinlade have been conscripted to play out the script against Abiodun.
