“Immediately Release Names Of High Ranking Officials From Whom Public Funds Were Recovered!” Court Orders Federal Government
The federal government has been ordered to release the names of high raking public officials from whom public funds were recovered, the circumstances – as well as exact funds recovered from each.
The directive was issued by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos.
The court specifically ordered the Federal Government to “immediately release to Nigerians information about the names of high ranking public officials from whom public funds were recovered and the circumstances under which funds were recovered, as well as the exact amount of funds recovered from each public official.”
The declaration was given in a judgement delivered by Justice Hadiza Shagari.
This was in a case brought by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP via a Freedom of Information suit number : FHC/CS/964/2016
A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the federal government to “immediately release to Nigerians information about the names of high ranking public officials from whom public funds were recovered and the circumstances under which funds were recovered, as well as the exact amount of funds recovered from each public official.”
The judgment was delivered by Justice Hadiza Shagari following a Freedom of Information suit number: FHC/CS/964/2016 brought by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP.
SERAP said it is processing a certified true copy to effect the judgement according to information sourced from premiumtimes.
