Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun has reacted to the rejection of old Naira notes in Ogun state, especially after the March 3, 2023, supreme court ruling that declared they remain legal tender till December 31, 2023.
Making his stance known on the hardship on citizens over the continuing rejection of the old Naira notes – N1,000 (One thousand Naira) and N5,00 (Five hundred Naira) in the face of the scarcity of the redesigned Naira notes, Abiodun in a post by his media people declared….
I am hereby sounding a note of warning to every Merchant, Trader, Banker, Petrol Station that is refusing old naira notes.
If you’re reported to me, I will deal with you to the fullest extent of the law.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria is the highest Court of the land and it has ruled that the old naira notes remains a legal tender up until December 31st, 2023.
