“I took an oath the day I was sworn in along with Mr. Governor”

Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has cleared the air about his purported resignation.

“I remain loyal to my Principal and I stand by the oath I took with the Bible to run the full cycle of the four-year tenure with Mr Governor” Aiyedatiwa declared in a statement he signed today, Saturday, September 16, 2023.

The statement lays to rest speculations about an alleged pre-signed resignation letter that has been invoked.

Aiyedatiwa who has been engulfed in an unending battle against power-mongers who want him out of office ahead of next year’s Ondo Gubernatorial election to determine the successor to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu further declared that “I wish to state that I, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo does not intend and will not sign/author any letter resigning my position as the duly elected Deputy Governor in a joint ticket with my principal the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON”.

He insisted that “I took an oath the day I was sworn in along with Mr. Governor on February 24th, 2021 to protect the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on a four (4) year mandate which terminates on February 23rd, 2025.”

The latest development comes on the heels of the sack of the entire media team of the Deputy Governor – and leaving him “defenseless” – in a move believed to have been instigated by the power mongers pulling the levers of dark campaigns against him.

The Deputy Governor’s camp insists that It is a continuation of an intense and relentless campaign to scupper his chances of becoming the next Governor of Ondo State.
