“I Appeal To Traders Not To Hike Prices Of Food Items” Saraki Begs In Ramadan Message

Saraki urged traders not to hike the prices of food items in a message that reads in full

I congratulate my fellow Muslims across Nigeria and the world for witnessing this year’s Ramadan. I pray that Almighty Allah grants us the grace and good health to witness the end of this fasting period — and to witness many more.

As we pray to Almighty Allah, we must all remember that Ramadan is a time of peace. Therefore, we must all pray for an end to the insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, and other forms of violence across the nation.

Additionally, during this Holy Month, it is important that those who are privileged and blessed with resources, work to extend fellowship to their neighbours and others that are not so privileged in their respective communities.

At this time, I wish to appeal to traders across the nation to not hike the prices of food items. This is not the time to exploit your fellow citizens. This is a time to rededicate ourselves to Almighty Allah and in the service of our nation.
