Senate President Godswill Akpabio has returned to the country after vacationing abroad, putting to rest speculations over his health during his stay outside Nigeria.

Akpabio disclosed that he arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, in the early hours of Sunday after travelling to London from Geneva, where he attended the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament between July 29 and 31.

He noted that the Nigerian delegation, which included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, made a strong impression at the global parliamentary gathering.

According to him, the country’s positions were articulated with clarity and its voice heard in the comity of nations.

The Senate President added that the National Assembly under his leadership remains committed to strengthening democratic institutions and delivering on the aspirations of Nigerians.
