Supporters of both politicians are hard at work claiming their principals are the next Governor of Ogun state.

Senator Adeola famously known as Yayi is known to be keen to break the jinx by becoming the first person from the minority area of Yewa (Ogun East) to become Governor of Ogun state.
The Senator is a strong ally of the Governor, helping him to win his first and second-term elections – in a collaborative effort with other top political players.
But Bankole’s supporters claim an understanding has been reached with stronger political influences at the higher echelon of the APC who will co-opt the Governor to support their patron.
The claims have attracted so much increasing interest that they have become a sort of “two fighting” at every corner among supporters.
Though Bankole is from the large votes area of Ogun Central, Senator Yayi has made an appreciable investment in his gubernatorial ambition for him to be seen as one of the most formidable politicians in Ogun state.
Adeola’s political influence is statewide while that of Bankole is labeled sectional.
