How Orji Kalu Promised To Make Sacked Sun Newspaper DMD Nwosu Overall Boss Before Shocking Sack

Before Steve Nwosu’s unceremonious exit from the Sun Newspaper insiders revealed he was supposedly being groomed to become the overall boss.

His sack on Thursday – February 1 2017 – shocked all those in the know.

“It was a totally unexpected development” an insider disclosed.

Nwosu was the Deputy Managing Director at the newspaper house owned by former governor Orji Uzor Kalu.

The tradition at the national daily is that the DMD becomes the Managing Director.

Outside of this, politician Kalu is said to have disclosed on a couple of occasions that Nwosu was the next Managing Director.

“It is an open secret that Nwosu was being groomed to become the next number one man, the former governor made no secret about it” an insider disclosed.

Insiders detail different scenarios Kalu had voiced his plan declaring Nwosu as the next Managing Director.

The plan wasn’t hidden, everybody thought it was a done deal societynow learned.

Societynow learned Nwosu who is obviously aware of the grand plan for him by the ex governor of Abia state had thrown self into the work, giving his all to surpass expectations.

Curiously Kalu who promised heaven on earth pulled the plug on Nwosu’s ambition after serially experiencing confidence in the former DMD with no “just cause”.

“He was just relieved of his position without any forewarning or explanation” a source disclosed.

Nwosu was sacked along with other top shots that include Three General Managers; the Editor of the Sunday title, Alhaji Fatai Oladehinde; Ikenna Emehu; Editor, Sporting Sun, John Joshua Akanji; Yinka Fabowale; and Emeka Okoroyanwu.

No major reason was given for their sack, just in the name of reorganisaton societynow learned.
