How Mohammed Babangida Is Making A Living
through multiple streams of income,
Those in the know have revealed how Mohammed Babangida is making a living — and it is through multiple streams of income, leveraging a career spanning 28 years of influence in business, education, and governance.
Insiders say that at the heart of the income sources for the son of former militaty President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida is Profile Group, a diversified investment holding company he founded in 1997.
The 52-year-old is the chairman of the group, which has grown into a recognized player across multiple sectors — including commerce, real estate, private security, oil and gas contracting, and advisory services to government institutions.

Those who should know assert that the younger Babangida’s entrepreneurial journey is marked by a “commitment to innovation, ethical leadership, and national development,” which has earned him the status of a distinguished entrepreneur, educationist, and corporate leader over the years.
He is the Pro-Chancellor of El-Amin University, established in 2023 to provide transformative higher education in Northern Nigeria, and also serves as the Executive Director of El-Amin International School, a leading institution offering nursery, primary, and secondary education.
Findings revealed that his key roles on strategic committees in governance, risk, audit, and compliance — while serving on the boards of four prominent banks: Intercity Bank, Unity Bank, NEXIM Bank, and currently, Lotus Bank — have helped Babangida acquire vital skills that are driving his success in business and enabling him to contribute significantly to long-term institutional growth and policy development.
A passionate polo player and administrator — he is the First Vice President of the famous and laurel-winning Minna Polo Club — Mohammed Babangida’s exploits in business and education are backed by intentional and sustained personal growth.

He holds a Master of Business Administration (Leadership) and a Master of Arts in Public Relations and Business Communication, and has completed executive education at globally renowned institutions.
His qualifications include:
Global Strategic Leadership – Wharton Business School
Executive Program on Corporate Governance – Harvard Business School
AML Compliance – KPMG
Leadership – Institute of Directors
Board Oversight of Digital Risk – CBN-FITC
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) – RIhas comMAN
Sustainability – Ernst & Young (EY)
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS), and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), the former president’s son is said to be leveraging these cross-sectoral experiences to quietly carve a niche for himself — and earn handsomely in the process.
