Emerging details have revealed what the Secretary to the Ogun state government Tokunbo Talabi is going through as he leads the charge to resolve the plight of workers.

Under the umbrella of organized labor in Ogun state, workers embarked on indefinite strike action on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, after a seven-day ultimatum.

The workers snubbed the last minute efforts by Talabi – dubbed the heart-beat of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration – and publicly name him one of those who failed to stop the strike.

“What was not known to the workers and other stakeholders was that Talabi just lost a grown-up child. His child died in the U.K and he abandoned comforting his wife to make an effort to stop the strike that was rebuffed by the workers” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

SocietyNow.Ng learned that Talabi’s child, a U.K resident, suffered a sudden health crisis that forced the SSG to travel out.

“This was what the SSG was attending to, trying to save the life of his child in the build-up to the strike, he lost the battle and did not mourn nor wait to properly console his wife before he returned to Nigeria to help workers resolve the issues that resulted in strike action. Put aside his grief to take up the task, his 60th birthday was around this time and he didn’t celebrate” SocietyNow.Ng further learned.

With Governor Abiodun agreeing with the workers’ demand to join the team negotiating on behalf of the government, both parties started meeting to resolve the issues at stake on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, and on Friday, July 1, 2022, there appeared to be indications the indefinite strike has been suspended based on “agreements reached”.
