How He Is “surviving” As Movie Producer Seun Egbegbe Spends 5yrs In Jail

as he battles to free himself from 40 counts charge

Movie Maker Seun “Egbegbe” Kareem has spent five years and some weeks in jail.

And it is not sure when the one upon a time socialite will get out.

He was arraigned on February 10, 2017, and remanded in prison custody as he battles to free himself from 40 counts charge of advance fee fraud.

Egbegbe and his accomplices – Oyekan Ayomide, Lawal Kareem, Olalekan Yusuf, and Muyideen Shoyombo – are accused of defrauding about 30 bureau de change (BDC) operatives in Lagos.

Widely reported allegation of stealing 10 pieces of iPhones ( 6 and 7 editions) in the popular computer village, Ikeja Lagos just days before his arrest- while on bail – particularly made the case against him sordid in 2017 SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Egbegbe who was “popular” is accused of duping the bureau de change operatives sums of N39,098,100, $90,000, and £12,550.

The embattled movie producer whose girlfriend gave birth amid his troubles was granted bail by the federal high court in Lagos on February 24, 2017, but has not been able to meet the conditions.

The conditions committed Egbegbe to a N5million bail with two sureties in the sum of N2.5million each.

The stipulations further read that ” One of the sureties must be a civil servant who has attained level 16 while the other surety must be a landowner in any part of Lagos metropolis. The landowner must submit Certificate of Ownership of the landed property and while the civil servant must submit his international passport to the court”.

“The sureties must swear to an affidavit while the house and office addresses and telephone number will be verified by the court,”

The popular movie producer unable to perfect his bail conditions is challenging the 40 count charge against him with a “no case submission”.

SocietyNow.Ng gathered that while he battles to cancel the case against him from prison custody, Egbegbe has been reaching out to friends to send him funds to make his situation bearable.

“He is constantly reaching out to friends to help him. Many have turned their back on him but there are still some that respond to his request for help for whatever it is worth’ SocietyNow.Ng learned.
